Yes!
David Arnold did it again. After his successful scoring for action
movies such as "Independence Day", "Godzilla"
and "Tomorrow Never Dies" Arnold is now comprehended as
one of the best composers for this kind of movies. So, what is our
opinion about his second Bond movie score?
It
is my belief that Arnold wanted to compose a score that everyone
would refer to it as a voluminous, substantial and with ceaseless
action cues album. His compositions for the action scenes of the
film are remarkable with several effective alternations to the mood
and the tempo of them regardless of the background techno-based
beats that support the tracks. Another clue that arises throughout
this album is the use of every single wind instrument that you can
imagine!
Owing
to the fact that Bond means action (mostly) I would like to mark
tracks 2,3 (together are one track), 8,11,12,14 and 17 as the tracks
that include extra-full bass, percussions, beats and of course the
essential Bond themes that Arnold successfully remixed for
this score. Track #11 is my favorite. Reminded me the adrenaline
that the score from "The Rock" provided me pretty often.
Additionally there are some great calm & peaceful cues that
balance the speed of the album. Finally I liked a lot the hit song
that Garbage performed! |
