Randy
Edelman scores movies from 1972 and he delivered us some descent
albums like "Dennis the Menace"(1987), "Ghostbusters
II" (1989), "Gettysburg"(1993) and don't forget his
contribution at "The Last of the Mohicans" soundtrack.
It
is my belief that for "Dragonheart" he exceeded our -and
his- expectations. This album contains the most melodic, epic,
romantic, roaring music that I've heard for a long long time. The
two main themes are surely the most memorable of soundtracks'
history counting the fact that the studios use them pretty often for
their movie trailers.
The
music that Edelman composed for this film can dramatically change
the mood of the listener in seconds. One moment you are calmed and
restful and the other you want to run and hide into the woods, or
something!!! The only disadvantage of this score is that Edelman
consume 46 min of music by looping and "stirring" the same
themes and suites.
Note also, that this CD
is a) a best-seller in the music market, b) one of the most
well-known music in the film industry and c) Edelman's best work!
