Williams through his career produced numerous film scores. All of
them have something in common. They declare instantly with their
simplicity and clarity the mood of the movie. "The
Patriot" is a stunning achievement of Williams' talent to
compose the ideal score for each movie he undertakes.
This
album is truly a gem, but not a masterpiece though! Williams
composed a patriotic score that "hooks" the listener from
the first notes. Glorious fanfares, melancholic violins with the
appropriate military percussions have as an effect to make the
listener remember or even cry. Many other Soundtrack
Maniacs told me after hearing the CD that they loved it just for
that fact. It is amazing how ideally the music works with the
motion picture, and how it balances every movie scene.
For
me this score should be the "model" for similar movies. It
is an album that every soundtrack fan to know what really means to
compose music that fits terrifically with the film and is a
listening experience, too! |
