At last! A
masterpiece. A score that makes the difference. It was always my
belief that the most beautiful music is the most simple music. Some
times it is simply written & some other times it just seems
simple to us! But the result is always the same. For example, for
this score the result is remarkable!
Michael Nyman given us in 1993
the music score for the motion picture "The Piano". The
main theme we hear it for the first time in track 4 (the short version),
but it is also used in tracks 6 (the long version), 10,15 (the
"slow" version). It is a solo piano, escorted partially by
violins in the background. The melody is great and cannot be
explained with common words. It is a theme that makes the listener
to play it over and over again.
The other tracks are also
beautiful instrumental pieces, my favorites are 1,3 & 5. Nyman
uses for these tracks mostly piano, violins and cellos.
Soundtrack Maniac or not, you must buy this CD to experience almost
an hour of absolutely rare and awesome music! The best work of
Michael Nyman indeed. |
