You
know Paul Oakenfold don't you. He has created some "gold"
albums that most fans of this type of music keep them in their
player ready to roll. But this is Paul's first "movie
scoring" effort, so let's be a little bit charitable!
This soundtrack is... not a
soundtrack. If we leave in the CD plain music and detach the
dialogues from the actors then we simply have another Paul Oakenfold
CD which is just OK. Nothing special indeed is contained in this
album except from a couple of tracks that make you get up and...
dance till their end.
It is not the listening experience
most of soundtrack maniacs were waiting. A decent action film with
Paul's touch should turn it into a non-stop action film. But this
doesn't happen here. For you that want another Paul Oakenfold album,
buy it to enrich your collection. For those who want another golden
production by him then avoid it, cause you listen it just a couple
of times.
Anyway, this is an album for those who
travel. Put it in your car's CD player and enjoy the ride. Otherwise
spend your money for the Final Fantasy soundtrack. |
